- What is your reaction to the idea that this job involves learning how to do your job, on the fly?The expectation that I will learn how to do my job while doing my job has been pretty standard in a lot of entry-level positions I’ve worked, both at Grinnell and in fields such as retail, manufacturing, and food service. It’s nice being in a position where that time is built into the job and is considered part of the position, rather than just something to get out of the way so that the project or full duties of the position can begin. I’m looking forward to getting a more in-depth look into a lot of tools that I’ve seen before, and a few I haven’t ever worked with.
