Vivero WeVideo Reflection

  • How would you feel about helping someone else learn how to use it? What did you find most interesting? What did you find most frustrating? What questions do you still have, and what parts of the tool do you want to explore more deeply?

On a basic technological level, WeVideo is pretty easy to understand, the process of finding and overlaying tracks is very familiar but the process of creating a well-produced video requires some creative knowledge that I don’t feel like I have. What transitions work best when, how long should they be, and what are the little tricks of the trade that make an aesthetically pleasing video? All of these factors feel like they are needed to make a professional final product but also feel like they fall outside of the Vivero preview and I feel like to be satisfied in instructing a student on the tool, one of us would probably need to have that knowledge. But I also did get to make a silly little video about fish so that was fun, and you could definitely lean into the roughness of not knowing much about video editing to make something entertaining.
